Eddie Howe not moving John Terry anytime soon

Eddie Howe football update

Football Update: AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has refused to rule out a summer move for former England and Chelsea captain John Terry.

Last week the Cherries were once again linked with a move for former Terry.

During the January transfer window, following Chelsea’s decision to recall Nathan Ake early from his loan spell at Dean Court, AFC Bournemouth were linked with a reported enquiry over Terry’s availability

It was later reported that John Terry was to discuss a potential loan move to the south coast with AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

No move transpired and John Terry remained at Stamford Bridge.

However the 36 year old hasn’t featured for Chelsea in the Premier League since November and it has now been announced that he will leave the probable Premier League champions at the end of the season.

When asked about the possibility of a move, Howe as always refused to comment on transfer rumours, but did admit that a move would not be dismissed due to the players age.
Howe told the Daily Echo…

“We are not going to comment on any transfer speculation, When we sign players I will talk chapter and verse about them.

“Age is not a barrier for me. I always look at the player, not his age. That doesn`t mean I am ruling it in or out. We have signed some experienced players in the past and they have done really well for us…’

“…It is always about the player and his character.

“I believe he (Terry) can be successful in the Premier League. Of course he can still play – but it is not for me to speak for him.”
