Michael Appleton trusts Roy Hodgson to succeed
Football News: Leicester City’s assistant manager Michael Appleton believes Crystal Palace will benefit from the experience of new boss Roy Hodgson.
The ex-Preston North End and West Brom midfielder, who worked with Hodgson as his assistant during his time as manager at The Hawthorns, feels his old boss can be a success at Palace, adding that he will use his experience to turn things around.
And Appleton, who is now assistant manager at Leicester, said he feels Hodgson will bring stability to the Eagles, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League with no points from five games.
“If you are going to win games, you have to keep clean sheets and having worked with Roy before, he will improve on that,” Appleton told BBC programme Match of the Day 2 Extra yesterday (Sunday).
“He will bring a bit of stability to the football club in terms of experience – he is one of the more experienced people in the game.
“He has vast experience all over the world at club level and international level and I believe Palace will get the benefits of that.”
