Daniel Cormier – Jon Jones beef reignites
MMA Update: Jon Jones is still under suspension with USADA, but that hasn’t stopped him from lobbing a few shot across the bow every now and then at UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier — and this weekend was no exception.
A few hours before UFC on FOX 24 kicked off, Jones took it upon himself to respond to an old tweet from Cormier that criticized the ex-champion’s knockout power. And he did it in true Jon Jones fashion, which immediately prompted a fiery response from Cormier.
Check out the exchange below:
He won’t. He doesn’t have that ability. He never has. Even when he juiced his way to deadlifting 600lbs he couldn’t KO Ovince https://t.co/wEXoAoDtEJ

Jones, of course, is currently serving a one-year USADA suspension after testing positive for two banned anti-estrogen agents ahead of UFC 200. The former light heavyweight champion is expected to be free to return to the Octagon in July, and a second showdown between he and Cormier seems to be inevitable given the current status of the 205-pound division.
Cormier has said multiple times since his UFC 210 victory over Anthony Johnson that he would love to a chance to avenge his loss to Jones inside the Octagon, although he also warned that the idea of Jones returning to an instant title shot may not be the best decision for his rival.
“If [Jones] for some reason wants to fight someone else and maybe get his sea legs back, [okay]” Cormier said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
“Because if he goes in there with me right now like, walking like he’s…you know when Bambi comes out, he’s got them little Bambi legs? He’s got them sea legs. If Jon Jones comes back in the Octagon with those sea legs like he did against Ovince Saint Preux, then I’m going to smash him. He might want to get his sea legs back under him. He’s not going to come in there with those baby legs.”
