Glover Teixeira suffers a brutal KO loss against Anthony Johnson
Teixeira had never been stopped inside the Octagon before – until he ran into Johnson who ended the fight in brutal fashion almost immediately.
Anthony Johnson lit up UFC 202 with a brutal knockout of Glover Teixeira inside just 13 SECONDS.
With UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier watching on from cageside, the number #1 and number #2 ranked 205-pound fighters in the world wasted no time at all getting stuck into each other from the opening bell.
The fight lasted all of twelve seconds as both men walked across the Octagon and got straight into range.
After a series of blocked shots from both fighters, Johnson saw his opening and delivered a devastating uppercut that pierced the defences of the Brazilian.
The combination of Johnson’s devastating power and Teixeira’s head position leaning into the punch meant the Brazilian lost consciousness before he even hit the mat.
Thankfully the referee recognised Teixeira was totally incapacitated and waved the fight off immediately giving ‘Rumble’ a massive win and likely the next title shot in the UFC’s light heavyweight division.
With his knockout of Teixeira, Anthony Johnson became the only fighter in UFC history to earn five knockout victories in less than one minute.
