Gareth Bale’s message to Romelu Lukaku
Football News: Gareth Bale reveals that he wished Romelu Lukaku good luck for his first season at Manchester United.
The Belgian striker became the Red Devils’ second signing of the summer earlier this month when he followed defender Victor Lindelof to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho moved quickly to bolster his squad.
Lukaku will be hoping to help fire Manchester United towards a Premier League title challenge in his first season at Old Trafford following his switch from Everton.
Bale and Lukaku were pictured chatting to each other during Manchester United’s pre-season friendly clash with Real Madrid in Santa Clara on Sunday night.
And the Wales international has lifted the lid on what he was speaking to Lukaku about during the exchange.
Bale is quoted as saying by Metro: “I just wished him good luck for the season. He has just signed for them and I hope he has a great season.
“I’m sure he knows all about the spotlight [from his time at Everton and Chelsea]. He has been playing for long enough now.
“He has done very well in the Premier League and I am sure he will do great for them.”
Lukaku finished as the second top scorer in the Premier League last season and will be hoping to carry some of that form to Old Trafford next term as he looks to fill in for the likes of Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
