Alvaro Morata finds it hard to adjust with Chelsea

Alvaro Morata football news

Football News: Alvaro Morata admits that he has been working hard to adapt to life in England despite his strong start at Chelsea

The 24-year-old Spaniard signed for the Blues from Real Madrid back in July as Antonio Conte moved quickly to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

Morata has made a strong start to life in a Chelsea shirt, having scored three goals and made two assists in his first four Premier League outings for the west London side.

The forward has been tasked with filling the boots of Diego Costa, who is yet to return to Stamford Bridge following the start of the season.

And although he has found his feet relatively quickly, he admits that it has not been easy for him to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League, as well as a whole new life in England.

Morata is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “It’s not easy adapting to a new country with a different style of play but I am working hard.

“I am a professional player and I truly believe it is not going to be a problem. I feel good here.

“The reaction (after the Burnley defeat), especially in the derby (2-1 win) against Tottenham, was very good. An accident is possible in the first days of the season and that’s how we saw it. Now we want to push on.

“I have moved between Italy and Spain before and now I am in England. The experience is not easy but all I want is to help the club with my goals and win big trophies.”

Chelsea are preparing to make a return to the Champions League on Tuesday night when they host Qarabag at Stamford Bridge in their group stage opener.

The Blues won the title in Conte’s first campaign at the club last season.
