Antoine Griezmann admits being doubtful in moving to England

Antoine Griezmann soccer update

Football Update: Antoine Griezmann appears to have dealt Manchester United a blow in their reported pursuit of the Atletico Madrid striker after he admitted his doubts about moving to England.

The forward’s situation has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks amid reports that the Red Devils are pondering a big-money swoop for the France international this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make their interest in signing the striker official in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.

However, the player himself now looks to have played down the chances of a transfer to England any time soon.

“With Real Sociedad, I felt that I needed to leave. For the moment, I do not know where that desire came from. Who knows how the season will finish. If it finishes badly, maybe I will ask myself the question. For the moment, it is not relevant…

“Aside from that, I am asking myself where I could go. In Spain, there is Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barcelona have the three up top [Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar].

“Real Madrid, that is impossible because of the club I am at [Atletico]. I think that between them, there is a pact.

“Germany, the league does not attract me much. France, not for the moment. And England, I have a lot of doubts about my private life. Everything like rain, bad weather… I need to feel happy outside.”

Manchester United are currently gearing up for their Europa League last 32 clash against Saint-Etienne on Thursday night.
