Hector Bellerin closing in on a new deal with Arsenal

Football News – Hector Bellerin is close to signing a new Arsenal contract, his agent has revealed.

The Spanish defender has made the right-back spot his own since breaking into the first XI and has become a key star for Arsene Wenger’s side.

He had been heavily linked with a move to both Barcelona and Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola thought to be very keen on the player.

Wenger was confident Bellerin would commit his long-term future to Arsenal, even though he already had three years remaining on his current deal.

And his agent Albert Botines held talks in London with Arsenal officials and he expects a deal to be done very soon.

‘We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago,’ Botines told The Guardian.

‘Hector is very happy at Arsenal.

‘This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress at the club.’
