Jurgen Klopp hits Gary and Phil Neville
Football News – Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has defended goalkeeper Loris Karius by hitting back at both Gary and Phil Neville who have been vocal in their criticism of the shot-stopper.
Speaking at his press conference on Monday, the German tactician was asked about his thoughts on the situation surrounding his first-choice between the posts.
Karius has been guilty of making two costly mistakes in the last two games, as he gifted Bournemouth a winning goal in their 4-3 victory before failing to stop a Dimitri Payet free-kick when he should of done better in a 2-2 draw with West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday.
Both Gary and Phil Neville, along with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, have all been highly critical of the goalkeeper, as they have questioned whether or not he is good enough for the club.
Further, they took exception with the 23-year-old responding in a newspaper interview last week, and believe that he needs to keep quiet and focus on his football.
While Carragher coincidentally has seemed to avoid a response from Klopp on this occasion, it hasn’t stopped the Liverpool boss from hitting back at the Neville brothers, as seen in the tweets below.
