Laurent Koscielny claims Wenger made bad decisions causing Arsenal’s defeat

Laurent Koscielny soccer update

Football Update: Laurent Koscielny concedes that Arsene Wenger made some questionable choices with his selections in Arsenal’s weekend defeat to Chelsea.

The Gunners were comfortably beaten by their London rivals, who moved 12 points ahead of Wenger’s men on the Premier League table.

With the French manager facing waves of criticism after the result, Koscielny says that mistakes were made on the team sheet which almost certainly ended Arsenal’s title hopes.

“I think we played some players in front of others and I think we should have played more as a team and there was space to do so. They hit us on the counter,” he told the media.

“It will be difficult now. Mathematically, nothing is done but we know that it is going to be very complicated.

“We need to come back to the quality of our game, our passing, movement.”

Wenger made the choice to return Alexis Sanchez to the striker role for the match, with both Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck starting on the bench. Hector Bellerin also began in the defence before having to be substituted early due to injury.
