Mamadou Sakho caught Serie A giants’ interest

Football News – According to reports from Calcio Mercato, both AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in bringing out-of-favour Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho to the San Siro.

Having not made a single appearance for Liverpool this season, Sakho’s Anfield misery could be about to end with two Italian giants ready to make a move for him in January.

Calcio Mercato report that both Milan clubs are looking at Sakho as an option to bolster their backline.

The outlet notes that AC Milan had an interest in him when he was still at PSG and both clubs reckon he’s a good alternative to the likes of Benfica’s Victor Lindelof, who has a massive price tag on him.

Once a regular in the Liverpool backline, Sakho made close to 80 appearances for the Anfield club. But we doubt he’ll make any more with Klopp isolating him from his first team squad.

Quoted by the Daily Mirror, Klopp recently said: “He is not in these plans for the first team. Nothing changed. The first team squad is here [at the training ground].”

Whichever club he ends up at will likely get a centre-back of decent quality, with Sakho’s physical attributes and strength in possession an asset for most teams.

The big French international posted a video on Instagram earlier this week showing that he is still working hard to make it into Klopp’s team.
