Troy Deeney not moving to West Ham
Football News – Troy Deeney has attracted a wealth of attention from bigger sides in the Premier League following his performances from the Hornets in recent seasons but it doesn’t seem the club captain will be on the move.
The Mirror reported this week that West Ham’s search for a new striker in January has seen them look towards bringing Troy Deeney across London, believing the 28-year-old would be the answer to their goalscoring problems.
However, Deeney’s agent told The Watford Observer that the striker was focused on Watford and forcing his way into the England squad.
“I heard the rumour this morning; it’s not true, not even close. There’s no interest at the moment and Troy is just concentrating on playing for Watford and trying to get in the England squad,”
Deeney hit 15 goals last season and has added a further three this term, putting him just one goal away from netting his 100th goal for the Hornets.
He’ll look to do that in the coming weeks as Watford look to build upon their strong start to the Premier League campaign, with upcoming matches against Leicester, Stoke, West Brom and Burnley.
