Lance Stephenson out, Archie Goodwin in

NBA News – Lance Stephenson’s time with the New Orleans Pelicans lasted just six games.

The team announced Monday morning they waived the guard, two days after news that Stephenson was set to undergo surgery for a groin injury.

With the open roster spot, the Pelicans signed guard Archie Goodwin. The Phoenix Suns waived Goodwin, 22, on Oct. 24.

The 6-foot-5 Stephenson averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 27 minutes to start the season. He earned the final roster spot after signing as a free agent in September.

Stephenson, 26, is in his seventh NBA season, spending four with the Indiana Pacers, one with the Charlotte Bobcats and splitting last year with the Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies.
